Here’s a heart wrenching story from my good friend and fellow Beachbody Coach, Charline Jackson Bucher
“Just wanted to share this from one of my friends who is a pastor in Alabama….. I don’t know what is going to happen to David… but I can’t help but feel that he at least has a shot at beating this….we should always keep in mind just what kind of an impact we are and can have on someone’s life….
Charline, I have to say this. As you know I was diagnosed with cancer and it is about to kill me. With radiation and chemo everyday for the last three months I have lost 72 pounds and now I’m on a feeding tube. I can only have Jevity 1.5 in a can (per doctors) and have been only able to get 5 cans in a day by the hardest (because more than that amount and I throw up even more than I already do). This is barely maintaining what I have left (weight wise) and was told I needed to move my per can intake up to 8 cans a day or more just to maintain or get ready to be hospitalized again.
My throat is totally closed and I cannot even get water down it. It is sad when throwing up actually is a joy because it forces my throat open and I get more air. Anyway, to make a long story short. I decided that seeing how I have plenty of Shakeology (thanks to you) I would add it to my daily 5 can intake (6 on a many times vomit day). I mix Jevity 1.5, Shakeology and a bottle of water as my every 4 hour meal. I am finding that the shakeology has given me energy I didn’t have before adding it and I have actually gained a pound. The reason I believe that I gained a pound is because the addition of Shakeology has stopped the vomitting of 10 or so times a day to only about 2 times a day. I believe that the 2 times is more so because of choking, coughing and gagging due to not being about to swallow more so than it is having an upset stomach.
Now maybe with the lesser days spent hung over the toilet all day will allow my throat some healing and maybe it will finally be able to open up so I can get back to eating real food. No real food since last year is beginning to take its toll on me as my taste buds, smelling senses and hunger panges are returning and I want to eat all that food I smell.
I just thought you might like to know what I was doing with Shakeology. I do not know if it is the right thing according to the doctors, but right now it sure is the right thing for me.”
