What is your definition of a "diet"?
movetooslow-deactivated20130423 asked: Can you post any easy, healthy recipes for those of us that are, well, "beginner" cooks? When I say beginner, I mean as in boiling water can sometimes be considered a challenge. One of the biggest things that personally stops me from eating better is the fact that I have no idea what I'm doing in the kitchen...
For all ze womenz:
Weight training allows for a large calorie expenditure and helps women lose more body fat; weight training causes an increase in Growth hormone and cortisol which cause fat metabolism in women. Women have approximately 20 times less testosterone than men do, therefore, large increases in muscle mass are not possible for women, unless they have a genetic predisposition or they are training to...

Can you recommend workout for beginning runners? I've seen a couple of routines that take you from "Couch Potato" to Half-marathon-er in 10 weeks, I'm not quite a couch potato but I hate running right now cuz I suck at it. I''ll be touring with a group of people that love running and I want to be able to work out with them. So whats a good 10-15 week...

DOES PAIRING PROTEINS AND CARBS AID WEIGHT LOSS?
Yes. Although you might think that the carbs will slow weight loss, the opposite can be true. Carbs plus protein helps build muscle (especially if you eat the combo just before and after exercise), and that can indirectly enhance fat loss, because muscle is metabolically active tissue that helps burn more calories around the clock.

Is Almond butter better for you than Peanut...
There are some nutritional differences between almond butter and peanut butter, and it looks like almond butter may be a little better for you.
Peanut butter is a good source of protein and monounsaturated fats, and it has some magnesium, potassium, selenium and a few B vitamins. One tablespoon of peanut butter has 94 calories, 4 grams protein, and 8 grams of total fat.

has lost 30 pounds in 6 weeks doing p90x, eating healthy and drinking Shakeology! It works! Change your life for the better.
seebackward asked: Hey Coby. I've been wondering, as a poor college student I am outside of the house most of the day, about every day. What kinds of portable snacks would you recommend to keep off the hunger without buying any convenient fatty foods. From a good nutrition bar or tasty sandwich. Anything could help.
Go to sleep on an empty stomach (at least 3 hours after last meal.). You’ll wake up with a flat stomach and more energy than you would have if you did eat. Not eating before bed allows your body to burn nothing but FAT overnight. Try it.

The fastest and most effective way to burn calories is to either lift weights or do HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training).
Lifting weights taxes your muscles, forcing them to work harder and repair, thus using more energy and burning more calories even after you are done working out. The more lean muscle you have the more calories you burn throughout the day and in sleep as well. Lifting...

White rice is literally brown rice that has been stripped of all its fiber and nutrients.
The loss of nutrients is broad and substantial. Plain white rice has far less Vitamin E, Thiamin, Riboflavin, Niacin, Vitamin B6, Folacin, Potassium, Magnesium, Iron and over dozen other nutrients. Added…

What the hell does that mean?

You must have a plan and stick to it. Once you stick to it, and start seeing and feeling the results and drive you’ve been looking for then you will become more and more...

Carbs. They’re our best friend or worst enemy. Here’s the deal. Carbs are energy. Our brain looks at them as that. If you’re not working out and living and active lifestyle, then your body does not need that much of them, right? So when you eat carbs, be sure that you have a workout prepared that day. My rule is that you start your day with some carbs and then as...

I know you think the fast food restaurant Subway is healthy but did you know that their bread has High Fructose Corn Syrup in it? Even the whole wheat bread. Such a shame. You just can’t trust these places. They claim health and they’re just lying to you. If Subway is your only option, opt for a turkey breast salad. That’s pretty much the safest way to go.
